Cleaning and maintenance of wooden kitchen utensils

  1.don't soak.

Housewives often have the habit of soaking pots, bowls and Ladles in water to help remove grease after cooking, but wooden kitchen utensils can not be left in the sink without paying attention to it.Used kitchen utensils must be washed and dried immediately to prevent water from infiltrating into them.

2.do not put in the dishwasher and dryer.

Wooden tableware and kitchenware can not be put into dishwashers and dryers.A lot of moisture in dishwashers and hot air in dryers will make it more easily moldy, deformed and shorten its life.If you treasure your wooden tableware, don't be lazy!Wash it with your bare hands.

3.please gently wash with soft sponge.

Wood products are not suitable for brushing vegetable, melon cloth or steel brush. In addition to destroying the paint coating on the surface,it is also easy to scratch wood, create cracks, and let dirt infiltrate into the capillary holes.

Correct cleaning method:After using soft sponge to dip in dishwash detergent and clean water, remove oil stains by"scrubbing"and rinse them under flowing water.Wooden tableware on the market can be divided into"painted"and"unpainted".If you buy"unpainted"wooden tableware, you can use edible baking soda powder as a natural detergent, which not only can quickly remove oil stains, but also do not have to worry about the problem of residual detergent penetrating into the wood.

4.be sure to dry after washing.

Clean kitchen utensils are best immediately wiped with clean kitchen paper towels, and placed in the indoor ventilation place to air-dry naturally;and pay attention not to let wooden kitchen utensils stack together, must be placed on the tableware shelf,so that the utensils keep distance from each other,to prevent moisture condensation. For large-area kitchen utensils such as wooden cutting boards,it is recommended that they be hung up or erected to avoid being close to the wall or desktop and to ensure that both sides are kept dry.

Drying method:if there is no time to dry after washing, you can use the oven to assist in drying. After heating the oven for about 5 minutes, turn off the power, and you can use the remaining temperature to dry the wood products.

5.the place of preservation is very important.

Wooden tableware and kitchenware must be kept in a dry and ventilated environment, and avoid water faucets, ovens, microwave ovens and gas ovens where humidity and heat are heavier,in order to avoid mildew;in addition,it can not be exposed to the sun, otherwise it may lead to deformation and cracking.

6.extend daily life with routine maintenance

There are some oil products on the market that are specially used to maintain wooden dishes and kitchenware, but you don't need to buy them specially, you can achieve the purpose of maintenance by using the seasonings that are commonly available at home.

Maintenance:mix olive oil and white vinegar in a ratio of 2:1,wipe the wood surface evenly with clean cotton cloth after dipping.Moisturizing olive oil can penetrate the pores, cover the wood fibers and form a protective layer.White vinegar has mild cleanliness, which helps sterilize and deodorize, and makes it clean and maintained.Once in place.

Wood smells quite easily. You can also use lemons to deodorize, squeeze lemon juice,or apply lemon peel on the surface to help remove odors.
